Lori MacDonald
Lori MacDonald was appointed Regional Deputy Commissioner, Ontario Region, on Monday, February 6, 2012. She was previously appointed Assistant Deputy Commissioner Institutional Operations Ontario Region in January 2010.
Since beginning her career with CSC in 1983, Ms. MacDonald has served in many roles, including Deputy Warden, Director General Women Offenders, Acting Deputy Commissioner for Women and, from 2007-2009, Assistant Commissioner, Public Affairs and Parliamentary Relations. Ms. MacDonald began her career in 1983 as one of the first women Correctional Officers to work at a men's maximum security institution.
Throughout her career, Ms. MacDonald has played key roles in developing and expanding programs for women offenders, Aboriginal offenders and offenders with mental health needs.
Ms. MacDonald holds a diploma in Law and Security, and a Degree in Criminology and Law from Carleton University. With a background including operational experience and regional and national policy development, her extensive knowledge and experience in the field of corrections is widely recognized.
