Chaplaincy Impact Project
Community Engagement Report Action Plan
I Community Chaplaincy
(a) Each community chaplaincy develops and implements an annual pastoral plan that incorporates, where appropriate, the "best practices" outlined in the Strategies for Creating Healthy Community Chaplaincies section of the Community Engagement Report (pages 26-25).
(b) Regional chaplains meet with each community chaplaincy at least once a year to review its pastoral plan and provide an annual update on community chaplaincy to the Regional Management Committee (RMC)
(c) This item has been replaced by three recommendations and decisions made by the Commissioner's Management Team Meeting of March 14, 2007:
- that CSC provides adequate funding* to sustain and increase chaplaincy services in the interest of improved public safety (*dependant on funding available)
- Approval in principle. Executive Committee directed that further discussion on resourcing for chaplaincy in the community take place at the National Finance Committee.
- that CSC and community chaplains work in collaboration to develop a system of notification concerning offenders coming to their service area, making community chaplains aware of their presence in the community and their risk factors/dynamics.
- Approved contingent on compliance with the requirements of the Privacy legislation.
- that community chaplains and CSC parole offices/halfway houses collaborate to establish visitation schedules for regular, ongoing community chaplaincy presence (including available meeting space) in order to support chaplaincy services.
- Approved
II Community Ministry Boards

III Interfaith Committee
