CSC offers a variety of vocational or work programs. These help prepare offenders for a job in the community upon release. They provide training in a wide range of work areas that are relevant to job opportunities that exist within the institution, as well as in the community.
Offenders must be eligible to take part in these programs. They must complete certain academic prerequisites.
CORCAN is an agency within CSC that has a mandate to provide job training and skills to offenders. Offenders are also offered help finding jobs in the community. Community Employment Coordinators work to match them with employers looking for specific skill sets.
