Women Offender - High Intensity Program

The Women Offender - High Intensity Program targets women who are assessed as having high needs and a high risk of reoffending. The program consists of 52 group sessions and 5 individual sessions. Each session is 2 hours long.

This program is a continuation of the Women Offender – Moderate Intensity Program. The focus of the program is to build on the skills and coping strategies that the women learned in previous programs. They get the chance to practice these skills as they continue to address problematic behaviour linked to crime. They continue to learn and practice problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. The program stresses the importance of positive and healthy relationships. Through it, they also continue to work on their self-management plans. These plans include coping strategies to help them live positive lifestyles.

Aboriginal Women Offender - High Intensity Program

The Aboriginal Women Offender - High Intensity Program targets Aboriginal women who are assessed as having high needs and a high risk of reoffending. The program involves Aboriginal Elders. It consists of 58 group sessions and 4 individual sessions. Each session is 2.5 hours long. The program includes culturally-relevant teachings and ceremonies.

This program is a continuation of the Aboriginal Women Offender – Moderate Intensity Program. It helps women to build a positive personal and cultural identity. It is about empowering Aboriginal women. They are encouraged to be involved in their own rehabilitation. They practice self-management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. The program stresses the importance of healthy lifestyles and relationships. It helps the women develop healing and self-management plans. These plans include coping strategies to help them live positive lifestyles.
