CSC Multiculturalism Award

All employees of the Service, individuals on contract or summer employment programs are eligible for the Multiculturalism Award. This award may also be given to members of the public (e.g., volunteer organizations) in recognition of their contribution to the Service in the area of multiculturalism.

This award is intended to encourage all persons working or having dealings with CSC, as well as to recognize their efforts to increase cross-cultural understanding and to improve race relations within the Service.

Nomination

Nominations may be submitted in writing at any time.

Nominations will be accepted from peers, managers or outside organizations (e.g., Citizens Advisory Committees) and must be accompanied by supporting documentation which demonstrates contributions, successful results and benefits in the area of multiculturalism.

Approval

The Deputy Commissioner of each region and the Assistant Commissioner of each sector is responsible for the evaluation and the approval of nominations.

Nature of Award

The Multiculturalism Award consists of a Citation signed by the Deputy Commissioner or the Assistant Commissioner, and by the Commissioner and the Deputy Minister of Canadian Heritage.
