Death of inmate at Pittsburgh Institution

Seizure of Drugs at Joyceville Institution
At approximately 11:30am, on May 5, 2013, Correctional Officers intercepted a visitor who was attempting to introduce drugs into Joyceville Institution, a medium security federal penitentiary. This seizure was the result of the combined efforts of Correctional Officers, the Detector Dog Team and Security Intelligence Officers. The contraband seized included 6.52 grams of cocaine. The total institutional value of this seizure is estimated at approximately $6,500. The visitor was arrested by the OPP Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad, and may face criminal charges. Read more. On Friday, May 3, 2013, inmate Jesse Lahn from Kent Institution was found unresponsive in his cell. Correctional Officers immediately performed CPR.Read more.Death of inmate at Kent Institution
