About the Institution

Pittsburgh Institution is a minimum-security facility located approximately 23 kilometres north east of Kingston, Ontario.

Currently, inmates are housed in 35 living units, including three reserved for private family visits.

As part of CSC's efforts to support inmates become law-abiding citizens, CSC offers various national correctional programs.

Work is now underway to increase capacity at the Institution. Construction of one new 50-bed living unit is expected to be complete in 2012-2013. Delivery of correctional and rehabilitation programs is also being expanded.
