About the Institution

Saskatchewan Penitentiary is a multi-level security facility located in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. It shares a property with Riverbend Institution. The institution is based on a dome design model where offender accommodations are direct observation living units.

Inmates are housed in five operation units: four medium-security units and one maximum–security unit. One unit is also designed for inmates with mental health problems who require constant surveillance.

As part of CSC's efforts to encourage inmates to become law-abiding citizens, CSC offers various national correctional programs.
