Escape from Westmorland Institution
Dorchester, New Brunswick, May 11, 2012 - On May 11, 2012, inmates Justin Roger Lavigine and Bradley James Barton were discovered missing during the Westmorland Institution 3:30 a.m. count. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and warrants have been issued for their arrests.
Justin Roger Lavigine, 23 years old, is described as being 178 cm in height, weighing 81 kg, having hazel eyes and brown hair, and tattoos on his arms, neck and right calf. He is currently serving a two-year sentence for Break and Enter and Commit, Theft Under $5,000 and Theft Over $5,000 as well as Fail to Comply.
Bradley James Barton, 27 years old, is described as being 185 cm in height, weighing 120 kg, having green eyes and brown hair. He is currently serving a sentence of three years and two days for various offences including Theft Under $5,000, Break and Enter and Commit as well as Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Disqualified.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Justin Roger Lavigine and/or Bradley James Barton is asked to contact police.
CSC will be conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and are working with the RCMP to locate these offenders as quickly as possible.
CSC has given the police all available information to assist in the inmates’ apprehension.
