Death of Inmate at Donnacona Institution
Donnacona, March 23, 2012 – On March 22, 2012 around 2:30 p.m., inmate David Anthony Tudor, from maximum security Donnacona institution, was found unresponsive in his cell. Correctional Officers and medical staff immediately performed CPR and an ambulance was called.
The offender was taken to the Centre hospitalier de l'Université Laval (CHUL), where he was pronounced dead at 3:34p.m.
At the time of his death, Mr. Tudor, 46 years old, was serving a sentence of 10 years and six months for robbery infractions. His sentence had started on November 10, 2003.
Next of kin have been notified.
As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
