Recapture of Inmate from Ste-Anne-Des-Plaines Institution

Laval, Quebec, October 4, 2012 – As a result of a collaborative effort between the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and the Sureté du Québec, federal offender Alex Michaud-Robitaille, who had escaped from Ste-Anne-des-Plaines Institution on September 29, 2012, was recaptured on October 4, 2012 without incident, in Lavaltrie.

At the time of his escape, Alex Michaud-Robitaille was serving a two-year, two-month and seven-day sentence since April 11, 2012 for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Obstruction of a Public Peace Officer, Mischief and Impaired Driving.

CSC will review the circumstances surrounding the incident and will take necessary measures to address any safety and security issues resulting from this incident.
