Change of Command Ceremony for Ontario Region

Kingston, Ontario, September 21, 2012 – This afternoon at 1:00 p.m., the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) held a Change of Command Ceremony for the Ontario Region.  This occasion marked the change in command from the outgoing Regional Deputy Commissioner, Ross Toller, to the incoming Regional Deputy Commissioner, Lori MacDonald.

This ceremony highlights the importance of being a leader within the Correctional Service of Canada and the responsibilities associated with taking on the role of Regional Deputy Commissioner.  It provides CSC with a valuable opportunity to gather together and witness the passing of responsibility for the safety and security of staff, offenders and the community from one person to another. 

The Change of Command Ceremony is an important tradition for CSC that allows staff to witness the passing of responsibility from one leader to another as part of its focus on pride and tradition.  It is also an opportunity for the organization to celebrate its traditions and reaffirms the incoming leader's commitment to enhancing public safety results for Canadians.
