Death of Inmate at Bath Institution

Bath, Ontario, October 17, 2012 – On October 13, 2012, inmate Donald Primeau from Bath Institution died of apparent natural causes at Kingston General Hospital in Kingston.

At the time of his death, Mr. Primeau, 51, was serving a two year sentence for various property-related offences.  His sentence had commenced on April 5, 2012. 

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
