Death of Inmate at Pittsburgh Institution

Joyceville, Ontario, October 25, 2012 – On October 22, 2012, inmate Clifford Sullivan from Pittsburgh Institution died of natural causes at Kingston General Hospital in Kingston.

At the time of his death, Mr. Sullivan, 67, was serving an indeterminate sentence for sex-related offences.  His sentence had commenced on December 5, 1979.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
