Change of Command Ceremony at Warkworth Institution

Campbellford, Ontario, December 18, 2012 – On December 17, 2012, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) held a Change of Command Ceremony at Warkworth Institution.  This occasion marked the change in command from the outgoing Warden, Ann Anderson, to the incoming Warden Ryan Beattie.

This ceremony highlights the importance of being a leader within CSC and the responsibilities associated with taking on the role of Warden.  It provides CSC with a valuable opportunity to gather together and witness the passing of responsibility for the safety and security of staff, offenders and the community from one person to another. 

The Change of Command Ceremony is an important tradition for CSC as part of its focus on pride and tradition.  It is also an opportunity for the organization to celebrate its traditions and reaffirms the incoming leader’s commitment to enhancing public safety results for Canadians.
