Death of Inmate at Regional Treatment Centre

Kingston, Ontario, December 27, 2012 – On December 26, 2012, inmate Donald Latimer from the Regional Treatment Centre died of natural causes.

At the time of his death, Mr. Latimer, 58, was serving an indeterminate sentence for Manslaughter. His sentence had commenced on June 27, 1990.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
