Inmate Protest at Collins Bay Institution

Kingston Ontario, January 14, 2013 – Inmates at Collins Bay Institution have been participating in a peaceful protest since Sunday January 6th, 2013. The offenders have refused to attend any of their correctional programs, work activity, or educational programs.

Representatives from the institution's Management Team continue to meet with the Inmate Committee to discuss the situation. The Management Team is actively working towards a resolution as quickly as possible.

Visitors are asked to contact the facility to confirm status of the visiting program before attending the site.
