END TO LOCKDOWN AND EXCEPTIONAL SEARCH AT WARKWORTH INSTITUTION

Campbellford, Ontario, March 27, 2013 – The lockdown and exceptional search at Warkworth Institution initiated on March 20, 2013 has concluded.  At approximately 16:00 hours on March 26, 2013, the institution returned to normal operations.

Visits to the institution have been re-instated.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is committed to preventing contraband from entering its institutions. Our efforts contribute towards ensuring a safe and secure environment for staff and inmates.
