Death of Inmate at Warkworth Insitution

Kingston, Ontario, April 10, 2013 – On April 9, 2013, inmate James DOOL from Warkworth Institution died of natural causes following a lengthy illness at Kingston Penitentiary Regional Hospital in Kingston, Ontario. He had been at the Regional Hospital for treatment following an extended illness.

At the time of his death, Dool, 60 years old, was serving a life sentence for first degree murder. His sentence had commenced on March 15, 1985.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
