Death of Inmate at Edmonton Institution

Edmonton, Alberta, February 28, 2013 – On February 27, inmate Ernest Gordon Strowbridge from Edmonton Institution died of natural causes at a local hospital.

At the time of his death, Mr. Strowbridge, age 37, was serving an indeterminate sentence for Second Degree Murder. His sentence had commenced on May 28, 2003. 

Next of kin have been notified.

The Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
