Death of Inmate at the Regional Treatment Centre (Pacific) (Natural Causes)
Abbotsford, British Columbia, October 29, 2012 – On October 27, 2012, inmate Richard Davis from the Regional Treatment Centre (Pacific) died of apparent natural causes following a lengthy illness.
At the time of his death, Mr. Davis, 66 years old, was serving an 18-year sentence for Robbery (x3), Robbery with Firearm, and Use Imitation of Firearm. His sentence had commenced on February 6, 2003.
Next of kin have been notified.
As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
