Death of Inmate at Pacific Institution
Abbotsford, British Columbia, January 2, 2013 – On December 28, 2012, inmate Frank Wilson from Pacific Institution died of apparent natural causes following a lengthy illness in the institutional hospital in Abbotsford.
At the time of his death, Mr. Wilson, 79 years old, was serving a Life sentence for Second Degree Murder. His sentence had commenced on January 5, 1999.
As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
