Ottawa, November 22, 2004 - The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) will hold a National Memorial Service in honour of Parole Officer Louise Pargeter who was killed in the line of duty in Yellowknife, on October 6, 2004.
This ceremony will honour Louise Pargeter's dedication, commitment and contribution to ensuring safer communities for all Canadians. The Memorial will also serve to recognize the contributions of all front-line correctional workers and the challenges they face in their efforts to safeguard our communities.

Place: Christ Church Anglican Cathedral

Media are asked to confirm their presence. Visual opportunities are available to media during the procession of the CSC Guard of Honour prior to the ceremony and the exiting procession. In order to preserve the reverence of the ceremony, we ask that media refrain from videotaping or photographing in the church during the Memorial. The family will be available to speak to media in the St-Mary Room after the ceremony.
