Ottawa, November 15, 2005 - As one highlight of Restorative Justice Week across Canada, the recipient of the Ron Wiebe Restorative Justice Award will be announced at a ceremony on Parliament Hill. Media representatives are invited to attend this event beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2005.

Created in 1999, this award honours the late Ron Wiebe - former Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) Warden of Ferndale and Elbow Lake Institutions in British Columbia - for his inspiration and commitment to the field of restorative justice. The award recognizes Canadians who have demonstrated, through their work or lifestyle, ways of transforming human relationships by enabling and promoting communication and healing between people in conflict, including victims, offenders, colleagues, families, or neighbours.

Media is asked to confirm attendance with Christa McGregor. CSC will present the award to this year's recipient at 8:30 p.m.
