PUBLIC SAFETY MINISTER PETER VAN LOAN PARTICIPATES IN THE CSC’S 2009 FORUM ON THE NEXUS OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND MENTAL HEALTH IN CANADA

Ottawa, Ontario – On Monday June 15, 2009, The Honourable Peter Van Loan, Minister of Public Safety will deliver opening remarks at the Correctional Service of Canada 2009 Forum on the Nexus of Criminal Justice and Mental Health in Canada.

The forum brings together recognized experts and leaders in the field of mental health and criminal justice, as well as government and related partners from across Canada, to examine mental health issues within the broader criminal justice system.

The forum will begin at 8:30am at the Marriott Hotel (100 Kent Street) in the Sussex boardroom located on the 27th floor.

Members of the media are welcomed to attend opening remarks, followed by media availability with the Minister in the gallery above the Sussex Boardroom. The remainder of the forum will be held in-camera.
