FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DORCHESTER, N.B., May 1, 2004 - At approximately 5:30 PM on Friday evening, April 30^th, an offender reported to the institutional health care centre. An examination revealed that he had been stabbed. He was transported to The Moncton Hospital where he currently remains. The injured inmate is listed as stable and is expected to make a full recovery.

The RCMP are investigating.

Dorchester Penitentiary is a medium-security institution located in the village of Dorchester, in South-Eastern New Brunswick.
