FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DORCHESTER, N.B., July 6, 2004 - On July 5^th at approximately 20:30 hours it was reported that an inmate housed in the institutional Health Services Department of Shepody Healing Center had passed away from natural causes. He had been under palliative care for some time.

Next-of-kin have been advised and the family has requested that the name of the deceased not be released.

Shepody Healing Center is the regional health care treatment facility in the Atlantic Region and is housed within the confines of Dorchester Penitentiary.
