FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ESCAPE FROM WESTMORLAND INSTITUTION

DORCHESTER, NB, August 16, 2004 - An inmate has escaped from Westmorland minimum institution in Dorchester, NB.

Inmate Darryl Ludlow, 30 years old, was noticed missing at 02:30 hours this morning. An institutional vehicle was also noticed missing.

Darryl Ludlow is serving a sentence of 13 years, 10 months 11 days for armed robbery, disguise with intent and attempt an indictable offence of armed robbery.

Born in St John's, Newfoundland, Mr. Ludlow is 180 cm (5'11") tall and weighs 75 kg (166 lbs). He has brown eyes, fair complexion and brown hair.

Police were notified of this incident. The Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting an investigation of this incident.
