FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WARRANTS OF APPREHENSION AND SUSPENSION ISSUED

CAPE BRETON, N.S., September 1, 2004 - Warrants of apprehension and suspension have been issued against federal offender Sheldon Leroy, a 34 year old native of North Sydney, Nova Scotia, who is suspected to be involved in the commission of a crime, last night in Sydney Mines.

The Cape Breton Regional Police is actively looking for this offender.

Sheldon Leroy was supervised in the community since his statutory date of release, on July 29, 2004.

He is described as 5 feet 9 inches, 170 lbs, with blond hair and blue eyes.

Correctional Service Canada will conduct a full review of the circumstances leading to this incident.
