DORCHESTER, NB, April 1, 2005 - An inmate from Dorchester Penitentiary died today. No foul play is suspected.
At approximately 12:45, in the afternoon of Friday, April 1, 2005, an inmate collapsed on the floor of the common room in Unit 3.
Institutional healthcare staff was immediately called to the scene and the inmate was transferred to outside hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased has been identified as Wayne Wilson, 32 year old, born in Middle Inpenitang, Ontario. He was serving a 2 years and six months sentence, that began on November 30, 2004, for break and enter and theft.
Correctional Service Canada will review all circumstances surrounding the death of this inmate.
Dorchester Penitentiary is a medium-security institution located in the village of Dorchester, in South-Eastern New Brunswick.
