FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DORCHESTER, NB, June 12, 2005 - The lockdown at Dorchester Penitentiary is still in place. Staff continues to gather and analyze information in regards to the assaults which lead to the lockdown on Friday evening.

The objective of the management team at Dorchester is to return to normal operations as soon as possible however; this cannot be done until we are sure that the environment will be safe and secure for both staff and inmates.

Dorchester Penitentiary is a medium security institution located in the Village of Dorchester in southeastern New Brunswick.
