FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DORCHESTER, NB, August 10, 2005 - An inmate has escaped from the Westmorland minimum-security Institution, in the village of Dorchester, in southeastern New Brunswick.

Inmate Réjean Gautreau, 25 year old, was noticed missing at 04:00, this morning, Wednesday, August 10, 2005, during a routine count.

Réjean Gautreau is serving a sentence of 3 years, 6 months and 15 days for robbery, theft and disguise with criminal intent. His sentence began April 14, 2005.

Police were notified of this incident and are currently investigating.

The Correctional Service of Canada will review all circumstances surrounding this incident.
