FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DORCHESTER, NB, July 8, 2006 - Two inmates have escaped from the minimum security Westmorland Institution in the village of Dorchester, New Brunswick.
William Miller and James Lahey were noticed missing at 06:35, am, on Saturday, July 8, 2006.
William Miller is serving a sentence of 1 year, 2 months and one day for property related offences, that started on February 27th, 2006.
James Lahey is serving an indeterminate sentence for second degree murder, that started on April 29th, 1998.
The Sackville RCMP has been notified immediately of the incident. CSC cooperates fully with the police investigation.
The Correctional Service of Canada will conduct a review of all the circumstances surrounding this incident.
