FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DORCHESTER, NB, January 5, 2007 - A 55-year old offender has died of natural causes while in our custody. His name is being withheld pending notification of the family.

The RCMP has been notified of the death. The Correctional Service of Canada will be conducting an investigation into the death.

Dorchester Penitentiary is a medium security penitentiary located in Dorchester, NB.
