ESCAPES FROM WESTORLAND INSTITUTION

DORCHESTER (NB), July 20, 2008 - Two inmates have escaped from the minimum security Westmorland Institution in the Village of Dorchester, New Brunswick.

Ronald Mack Makokis, 20 years old, as well as William Randall McAllister 19, were both noticed missing at 04:10 hrs, while staff were conducting an institutional count today, July 20th, 2008.

Ronald Mack Makokis is serving a two and a half year sentence for various property and motor vehicle related offences. William Randall McAllister is serving a sentence of three years and fifteen days for break enter and theft as well as failure to comply with conditions.

The RCMP has been notified of the incident. CSC cooperates fully with the public investigation.

The Correctional Service of Canada will conduct a review of all circumstances surrounding the incident.
