FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INMATE RECAPTURED FROM WESTMORLAND INSTITUTION

DORCHESTER, NB, November 20, 2008 - On November 17, 2008, federal inmate Stephen Chester escaped Westmorland Institution while participating in a self-help temporary absence in Moncton. He was recaptured on November 20, 2008 in Quispamsis, New Brunswick.

At this time, Stephen Chester has been serving a ten-year eleventh-month sentence for armed robbery, forcible confinement, and fraud as well as some property offences.

The Correctional Service of Canada is conducting a review of all circumstances surrounding the incident.
