Death of an Inmate Westmorland Institution

Dorchester, NB – An inmate, in custody at Westmorland Institution has died of apparent natural causes on Friday March 13th, 2009.

The inmate has been identified as Edward Wilfred Riley and was originally from the Annapolis Valley area. He was 56 years old.

Mr. Riley was serving a two- year- four- month sentence for motor vehicle related offences.

CSC reviews the circumstances surrounding these incidents.
