FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 2, 2009
Springhill Institution returned to normal operations on Monday June 1, 2009 after a lockdown implemented last week in order to complete the search for an unauthorized object.
Correctional staff searched over the weekend and no unauthorized object was found.
The lockdown was initiated on Tuesday May 26, 2009 after an anonymous handwritten note was received indicating that an unauthorized object could be on the premises.
Visits and programs have been reinstated.
