FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOCKDOWN AT ATLANTIC INSTITUTION

Renous, NB, February 10, 2010 - Atlantic Institution has been placed under lockdown status to facilitate a search for contraband and unauthorized items.

Searching of the institution is ongoing and normal institution operations including visits are suspended until the conclusion of the search. The lockdown will remain in effect until the search is completed.

Ensuring the safety and security of institutions, staff and public remains the highest priority in the operations of the federal correctional system.

Atlantic Institution is a maximum-security institution located in the Village of Renous, New Brunswick.
