INMATE APPREHENDED FOLLOWING BRIEF ESCAPE FROM WESTMORLAND INSTITUTION

Dorchester, New Brunswick, February 12, 2010 – On Thursday, February 11, 2010, at approximately 20:00, inmate Harry Hamilton-Davies was apprehended by Correctional Service Canada (CSC) officers after briefly escaping from Westmorland Institution. He was immediately transferred to a medium security facility.

Harry Hamilton-Davies is serving a sentence of two years seven months for conspiracy to commit an indictable offence involving the Importation of Drugs and Trafficking.

The RCMP has been notified and CSC is fully cooperating in the investigation.

CSC will review the circumstances surrounding the escape and will take action where necessary.

Westmorland Institution is a minimum security institution situated in Dorchester, New Brunswick
