FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DEATH OF AN INMATE AT DORCHESTER PENITENTIARY
Dorchester, NB, August 29, 2011 – At approximately 7:38 pm on August 23, 2011, federal inmate Richard Pearman passed away of natural causes after a prolonged illness while incarcerated at Dorchester Penitentiary.
As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the RCMP and coroner have been called to investigate.
The death may be the subject of a coroner’s inquest as is common with any death of a person in custody.
Dorchester Penitentiary is a medium-security federal institution situated in the village of Dorchester, New Brunswick.
