FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOCKDOWN AT DORCHESTER PENITENTIARY

Dorchester, New Brunswick; October 27, 2011 –A lockdown is currently in effect at Dorchester Penitentiary, as a workplace Health and Safety issue is currently being negotiated.

Visits and recreational programs have been suspended, and inmates are being fed in their cells. There are no reported incidents and the institution remains quiet.

The facility will return to normal operation once the issue is resolved and management determines that it is safe to do so.

Dorchester Penitentiary is a medium-security federal institution situated in Dorchester, New Brunswick. It currently houses 404 male offenders.
