FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CAMPBELLFORD, ONTARIO, August 19, 2004 - Based on information received today from various sources that there was contraband in the institution, the Warden in consultation with his management team made the decision to lock the institution down and conduct an exceptional search.

The institution has been locked down and visits and programs have been suspended until further notice.

As per Correctional Service Canada (CSC) policy, staff are conducting a thorough search of the institution with the assistance of CSC detection dogs.
