FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KINGSTON, ON, December 24, 2004 - At approximately 10:30hrs on December 24, 2004 an inmate at Millhaven Institution was assaulted in the gymnasium area. Initial medical examination at the institution indicates he received a laceration to his neck. The institution is presently locked down.

The inmate was taken to outside hospital for assessment and further treatment. His injuries are considered non life threatening.

The Joint Forces Penitentiary squad is investigating this incident.
