FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KINGSTON, ON, April 19, 2005 - On April 14, 2005, a visitor attending Joyceville Institution was suspected of introducing drugs to the inmate population. The visitor was interviewed and searched by staff and the drug dog displayed a positive indication for drugs. Upon a further interview, the visitor stated she was carrying drugs and the Warden authorized a strip search. From the strip search, packages were found containing 69 grams of marijuana and 4.5 grams of hash valued at $ 7,300.00. The visitor was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and released on a promise to appear.
