FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KINGSTON, ON, April 21, 2005 - John Hypolite, a 57-year-old offender was found to be in medical distress in the unit washroom at Frontenac Institution. Staff quickly responded to the offender and contacted an ambulance. He was taken to hospital. The offender died on April 23, 2005. The offender was serving a life sentence for first-degree murder.

The OPP Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad is investigating. Foul play is not expected in this death. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
