COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF GREATER KINGSTON DONATES $5000 TO THE COLLINS BAY EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE'S OLYMPIAD
KINGSTON, ON, May 12, 2005 - The Collins Bay Exceptional People's Olympiad was selected along with three other organizations to receive a $5000 gift, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Community Foundation of Greater Kingston. The goal of the Community Foundation of Greater Kingston is to enhance the quality of life in our community. This is accomplished through the awarding of grant money to registered charities in the Kingston community. The inmates and staff at Collins Bay Institution will be thanking the Community Foundation by hosting a cheque presentation ceremony to celebrate this generous donation. Each year the Exceptional People's Olympiad, organized by the inmates at Collins Bay Institution with the help of staff, allows mentally challenged adults from across Ontario to participate in a weekend athletic event where all individuals are celebrated. It is through the generous donations of the Kingston community that allows this worthwhile event to continue year after year.
Collins Bay Institution will celebrate this donation by holding a cheque presentation ceremony on Friday, May 13th, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. The media are invited to attend this event.
