KINGSTON, ON, May 13, 2005 - On May 13, 2005, a visitor attending Joyceville Institution was suspected to attempt introduction of drugs to the inmate population. The visitor was interviewed and searched by staff and upon a further interview, the visitor stated she was carrying drugs. The Warden authorized a search of the visitor and her vehicle. The drug dog displayed a positive indication of drugs in the visitor's vehicle and a variety of pills and marijuana were found. In total from the search of the individual and her vehicle, several packages were found containing 30 grams of marijuana, 8-100 mg morphine pills and 10 dilaudid pills valued at $3,500.00.
The visitor was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking x3 and released on a promise to appear.
