FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KINGSTON, ON, August 17, 2005 - On August 17, 2005 at approximately 1300 hours two inmates were involved in a fight in the offender dining area.

Staff acted quickly by intervening and controlling the situation.

One inmate suffered a non-life threatening injury, was seen by institutional health care and placed in segregation.

Collins Bay institution is on modified routine and will not be allowing offender visits tonight.

The Joint Forces Unit attended the institution to investigate this incident.

The Correctional Service of Canada takes security incidents very seriously and will be following-up with their own investigation.
