FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KINGSTON, ON, September 2, 2005 - At approximately 0830 hrs on September 2, 2005 a fire occurred in the Industrial Paint Shop located in the Industry, Education and Vocational building. The fire was contained to one paint booth and damage has been estimated at $4,000. There were no injuries to staff or inmates.

The City of Kingston Fire Department was deployed and the building has been closed to allow CSC and the Fire Department to conduct their investigation. Initial indicators are that the fire appears to have been accidental.

The institution has been placed on modified routine for staff and inmates employed in the building.
